After the last changes, the college has been modernized. Modern equipment, a computer center, a new contemporary library have been added. Worthgate School – Syllabus and Programs
Worthgate School offers programs for Year 10 to Year 12 students. Students aged 14 and over can choose a two-year GCSE program, lasting four to six terms. Students aged 15 and over can evaluate the preliminary program, which lasts one to three semesters. The focus of the program is to prepare for A-Level or IB.
As with the sister schools, students who need to improve their English proficiency can take the CATS Academic English Program, a full-time intensive course lasting between one and four terms. Or, if students want to gain insight into British education and culture, they can attend the High School Term program, which takes approximately one to three semesters to improve their English and understanding of British Culture.
For the A-Level program, students can choose courses lasting five to six terms, for a total of two years. In the first year, students can take three to four subjects, and in the following year, they can study three subjects. The University Preparation Program (UFP) is an alternative to A-Levels, taking just three terms to complete. Students aged 16 and over can study three to four topics at a detailed and challenging level. They might also consider the International Baccalaureate(IB) Diploma, a unique program offered by Canterbury but not by other branches. The IB is one of the fastest-growing and most prestigious diplomas in the world. Six terms last approximately two years. Students are required to study six subjects and three core areas.
Worthgate School – Extracurricular Activities
The school offers more than 125 activities to its students, ranging from sports and arts, academic and leadership and social activities. An afternoon once a week is devoted to sports to encourage students to relax and exercise. The school also offers an Elite Sports and Performing Arts program, allowing students to take a UFP or A-Level Business course while receiving top coaching. There are also cultural and international events and trips all over the world.
