The school's sports facilities are also highly developed. The campus includes a large indoor swimming pool with heated water, tennis courts, indoor areas for volleyball, basketball, football, and badminton, as well as outdoor spaces for team sports and individual lessons. The school also has its own theatre.
Ardingly College - Curriculum and Programs
In the Sixth Form, students can choose from A Level, IB, or BTEC options, with a Pre-IB course also available. Since 2001, in addition to the traditional A Level program, Ardingly has also offered the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) to Sixth Form students.
- GCSE: In Years 10 and 11, students follow a general GCSE program. Subjects are grouped thematically, and each student selects 3-4 subjects, with a total of 8-10 subjects at GCSE level. The mandatory subjects are: English, Fundamentals of Personal Safety, Mathematics, Philosophy, English Literature, Physical Education and Sports, and Natural Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, or Physics). Elective subjects include: Drama, Technology and Design, Latin, Art, Fundamentals of Religion, History, Graphic Design, History of Civilizations, Spanish, French, German, Product Design, Geography, Music, etc.
- A LEVEL: The A Level program in Years 12 and 13 is an effective preparation for university entrance. In the first year, students study 4-5 subjects, and in the second year, they focus on 3-4 subjects. Available subject choices include: Drama and Theatre Studies, Music, Technology and Design, Biology, Physics, History, History of Civilizations, French, English, Advanced Mathematics, Business Fundamentals, Psychology, English Literature, Art and Design, Spanish, Medieval History, Physical Education and Sports, Economics, German, Italian, Mathematics, Geography, Latin, Chemistry, Philosophy.
A special Pre-IB course is also available, which is ideal for foreign students who have completed high school in their own countries and are new to studying abroad.
Ardingly College - Extracurricular Activities
Ardingly College has established partnerships with nearby schools, allowing students to interact regularly, participate in joint tours, and go on walks together. International educational trips are organized frequently, with destinations including European countries (Paris, Italy, Florence), Kenya, Gambia, or India. The school also has student and language exchange programs with educational institutions in France, Germany, and Spain. Students are allowed to visit the town center during their free time, but they must return to campus by 6:00 pm.
Sports facilities include athletics, cross-country, equestrian, cricket, football, hockey, netball, rounders, swimming, tennis, squash, fencing, badminton, rugby, basketball, rowing, yoga, shooting, scuba diving, and sailing.
The school has excellent facilities for arts and photography, as well as drama and music. Students are involved in projects like the Solar Car Project, and they can also compete for the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Ardingly College - Accommodation Options
When students check in, their age and gender are taken into account. Most students (about 80%) stay in rooms with one or two beds, while around 20% stay in rooms with three or four beds. Each dormitory accommodates approximately 40 students, except for the dormitory for senior students. Every residence has a warden and mentors, and healthcare personnel are always on duty. Ardingly College’s dormitories feature spacious common rooms, self-service kitchens, and computer rooms (all computers have internet access). There are large shared dining areas where students are provided with tasty and varied full-board meals, mostly from traditional European cuisine.

In 2021, 91% of students achieved grades 9 or 8 in their GCSE exams. In 2008, Ardingly ranked 7th in the UK in The Independent’s league table of schools offering both A Level and IB curriculums. In 2021, 82% of students achieved A* or A grades in their A Level exams. In 2021, Ardingly’s IB students averaged 41.3 points (out of 45), placing the school 6th in the UK and 14th globally.
100% of students who applied to university gained entry to one of their top two choices, with 83% being accepted into universities within the Russell Group.
