Campus and Facilities

The school campus is carefully designed to support the holistic development of girls:

• A magnificent sports complex including a gymnasium, swimming pool, and recreational areas is available for students. Sports facilities include tennis courts.

Curriculum and Programs

Cheltenham Ladies’ College offers GCSE, A-Level, and IB programs at the secondary level.

• GCSE is regarded as the gold standard of the British education system. The program covers Years 10 and 11, with students taking 8–12 subjects to prepare for the advanced A-Level program.

• A-Level is an advanced secondary program that prepares international students for university admission. Students can choose from 24 advanced subjects, selecting 3–4 subjects in the first year and 4–5 in the second year. Some A-Level subjects include: Latin; Art; Design; Chemistry; Biology; Mathematics; Philosophy; Religious Studies; Italian; English Literature; Greek; Computer Science; Drama; Politics; History; German; French; Chinese; Spanish.

• International Program aims to prepare international students for university and well-rounded development. Students study 3–6 subjects at increasing levels of difficulty. Some subjects offered include: Art; Social Studies; Literature; Foreign Languages; History; Mathematics; Biology; Chemistry; Geography; Economics; Drama.

Extracurricular Activities

Cheltenham Ladies’ College is one of the few schools in Britain offering three professional winter sports: lacrosse, netball, and hockey, with weekly competitions. The school has over 30 sports sections, including: cross-country; trampoline; volleyball; football; basketball; swimming; fencing; equestrian; Pilates; archery; fitness; polo; and dance.

The school offers numerous hobby clubs for students to pursue their interests: International Community; Bridge Club; Debate Club; Golf; Sculpture; Photography; Martial Arts; Astronomy; Painting; Ceramics; Symphony Orchestra; Politics and History; Creative Writing; Theatre.

• Dance School offers styles such as hip-hop, ballet, jazz, tap, and modern dance.

• Theatre School covers drama as part of the curriculum or as an extracurricular activity, including performing arts, makeup and costumes, and lighting and sound.

• Music School sees 65% of students participating in music lessons, with opportunities for examinations. Musical ensembles include 2 string orchestras, 5 choirs, a jazz band, a rock band, and 2 symphony orchestras.

University and Academic Achievements
