Roedean School is one of the most renowned girls’ boarding schools in England. Girls aged 11–18 may also attend as day students. The school educates a total of 620 pupils, of whom 52% are boarders and 40% are international students. The average class size ranges between 8 and 12 students. Founded in 1885, the school enjoys a wonderful location overlooking the sea, near the popular coastal town of Brighton. London is a two-hour drive away. The facilities are excellent, and the boarding houses have been recently renovated. A comfortable home environment is provided for many girls boarding from both the UK and over 30 other countries. The 40-acre campus combines the impressive, historic appearance of its main building with modern functionality: spacious classrooms, ballet studios, music rooms, sports facilities, a large outdoor sports complex, and its own concert hall.

Boarding at Roedean is offered in three forms: full, weekly, and flexible. Most students choose full boarding, and over 250 girls stay on campus during weekends, when numerous activities are organised on Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays. Younger pupils share rooms of 2–4, while Sixth Form students (Years 12–13) usually have individual bedrooms. Each floor has an adequate number of showers and bathrooms. The boarding houses have recently undergone extensive renovation and refurbishment. Meals are provided on a full-board basis in a large communal dining hall. Special diets are catered for, with separate options available for Muslim, vegetarian, and Jewish students. Every girl has her own tutor, who is responsible for her safety, academic success, and participation in co-curricular and creative activities.
